Renewal
Smart designs,
successful vessels
At De Haas Shipyards, the construction of a new vessel does not start with steel and welding, but with an idea. Your idea. After all, no one knows better than you what to expect from a vessel. We build according to specifications, but of course your wishes and requirements also play a decisive role in the conceptualization, design, and construction of each new vessel.
Our new construction program is aimed at developing a sustainable standard for our clients, based on joint knowledge and experience. The vessels are built according to a unique conceptual method, based on very high-quality technology combined with excellent ease of operation and comfort.
We work innovatively and efficiently so that we can deliver the most diverse vessels within a short time and in accordance with your requirements. The yard is the address for the most economically advantageous tender. A good price is just as important as qualitative criteria such as public focus, sustainability and project management.

The first reconnaissance
Once all wishes and requirements are clear, a concept plan of the vessel is created. At this stage we also consult with classification societies and inspection authorities. In this way we optimize the process and the total lead time.
Our designers and engineers translate the results of the initial exploration into a clear design vision and then into
3D models that are used in this phase
optimized into the ideal design. Here, too, the creation of added value is central. This added value pays off, among other things, in cost savings, emission reductions and optimal ease of use.
Production of airframe
and components
Once all modifications and additions to the concept plan have been made, the design is checked and calculated through by MARIN. If the results of the calculations warrant it, which frequently happens with fast vessels, a scale model of the vessel’s hull is built and tested. After all, reliability and performance are critical in any vessel.
Only when we are sure that the vessel to be built meets all safety and functional requirements do we proceed to prepare a construction plan. In this plan, the vessel is “broken down” into different components as efficiently as possible, allowing for cost-effective and fast construction. At the end of this phase, the ideal vessel is completely finished on paper.
The dismantling and final result
Once the construction plan has been approved, work begins on building the vessel. The hull and superstructure are manufactured with extreme precision, after which systems such as propulsion, electrical and navigation are integrated step by step. Each component is thoroughly tested and checked to ensure that everything fits the design perfectly.
During the sea trial, the vessel is tested under various conditions for safety, performance, and reliability. Any optimizations are implemented immediately. Only when everything is perfect down to the last detail do we deliver the vessel. The result: a custom-built ship that meets the highest standards and is ready for years of intensive use.
